As the Stock Exit Lead, you will lead the clearance processes and activities, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to exit stock profitably and efficiently. What you'll do

As the Stock Exit Lead at Sainsbury's, you will be responsible for leading the clearance processes and activities across Argos, optimising end-of-range and excess stock inventory to ensure timely and profitable stock exits. Your role will involve developing and delivering actionable insights through complex analytics, influencing stakeholders with data-driven decisions, managing category team relationships, and leading the RO recall process plan for Argos stock. You will collaborate with various teams to enhance trading performance, drive digital trading plans, and act as a subject matter expert for commercial buying, merchandising, distribution, and digital teams, ultimately contributing to the department's clearance budget metrics and objectives. Will have a direct report and include people management.

You are a strategic thinker with a strong background in merchandising, stock management, and supplier relations. Your expertise in turning data into actionable insights, coupled with your analytical skills and commercial acumen, allows you to drive informed decisions and influence stakeholders across various teams. With a continuous improvement mindset and excellent communication skills, you excel in managing clearance processes, optimising inventory, and maximising margin while fostering strong relationships and collaboration within the organisation.

  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate data to support decision making
  • Effective problem solving ensuring the operations run smoothly and efficiently with ability to improve processes and address challenges.
  • The ideal candidate will need to thrive in a remote setting, demonstrating excellent self-discipline and the ability to work autonomously. 
  • The candidate needs to have a strong commercial background, be knowledgeable about inventory management, and be capable of setting effective pricing strategies to maximise financial recovery of our exit stock.
