Here in Supply Chain, it's all about getting the balance right. Making sure we've got the right amount of stock to keep up with our customer demands, but not having too much that our products go to waste. After all that isn't good for business, and not good for our lovely environment either.

Using stellar insights and control, we identify cost-savings, create more efficient processes and make a difference to the sales and profit line of the business. The Imports team are a close and collaborative bunch whose overlying purpose is to get the right stock in the right place at the right price.

The Imports Controller will ensure the smooth flow of stock at the right price, and to be successful in this role, you'll need to be ready to deal with challenging situations with an eye for analysis and improvement of process. We want to you to help us make things simpler, so you can expect us to listen to your ideas and the insight you provide that will bring them to life.

More about the role:

Reviewing and driving carrier/ 3PL performance, identifying issues, recommend actions to recover risk and maximise opportunities.
Identifying best practise and conducting periodic review of existing internal processes ensuring inefficiencies are identified in line with business needs.
Produce project plans, supplier analysis and process maps to support development strategy
Working with the Stock Teams to understand supply cost model, and optimised routing for General Merchandise product.
Cross functional event planning and reporting ensuring all stock achieves key milestones to maximise customer availability.
Support the business with any changes to the network, to ensure minimum disruption to service.
Responsible for shipment approvals that direct cost implications in line with imports strategy.
Provide solutions and quotations for trading on new routes to market
Lead direct reports inclusive of workload management and performance reviews.
Planned travel to overseas locations may be required on an ad-hoc basis

More about you:

Experience working in Internal or external Supply Chain / Logistics/ Freight Management essential
Experience of line managing team of 2 or more
Strong commercial awareness
Understanding of Trading, Global Sourcing and Supply Chain Operations gained in an FMCG environment would be advantageous
Advanced knowledge of MS Office packages including Excel, PowerPoint and Office, knowledge of Access would be an advantage
