Team:

The Financial Accounting Team will provide the financial controls to safeguard our business and provide accurate and insightful numbers to understand performance. This team provides assurance of accuracy of accounts, liaising with Audit and Sainsbury Group to provide understanding of company performance with an appetite to ensure risks and opportunities relating to sales and margin are identified, understood and mitigated where possible.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

Providing support to the Finance Analyst in analysing periodic spend.
Building effective relationships with multiple freight carriers, Buyers, Imports Operations teams and other colleagues.
Maintaining service invoice rates data within systems to ensure duty calculations are correct.
Ownership of Royalties & White Good Warranty provisions balance sheets, responsibility for liaising with the trading teams & Buyers regarding any queries and providing monthly reconciliations for Balance sheet reviews.
Other general accounting duties within the Gross Margin team. Support completion of accurate and representative financial statements.
Work on ad hoc projects.

Your skills & experience will include:

Graduate calibre professional ideally studying towards a professional accounting qualification – AAT / ACCA or CIMA.
Exposure working within a Finance team in a large organisation would be desirable but not essential.
Possess good inter-personal skills, have an empathetic nature and a good sense of humour.
Be enthusiastic, positive and have ability to proactively engage with key Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
Be a team player with good presentation and communication skills (both verbal & written)
Possess can do attitude with an adaptable approach suitable to operating at pace and switching between priorities.
Strong analytical skills, Excel & Access would be preferable.
