We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Gifting & Service Specialist to join our Argos For Business team.

Working in Argos for Business brings great opportunities to be part of a close-knit team within a large business environment. We are looking for someone who is able to undertake the role as Argos gift card product, technical and process specialist. You will act as the product gatekeeper, ensuring the product integrity and robustness is maintained at all times.

You will be the key conduit between the business departments and the IT professionals who manage the platform, processes, interfaces, databases and code level management.

What I need to do

Define and document the current range of Argos gift cards – as is today
Drive the consistency of product approach, set up, functional scope for the ‘to-be’
Review and agree the scope for functionality and processes that we will STOP offering clients in b2b
Formulate and own the plan for migration of existing clients from Collection Code and A.Card and on to Gift Card and e-Giftcard
Identify any missing functionality gaps between products and prioritise the new product development requirements
Unify all b2c and b2b product functionality in to one focussed and documented business and customer proposition
Compile and deliver sales team product knowledge packs, delivery training, and support implementation and on-boarding of new clients.
Lead and operate a New Product Development forum and a Product governance forum covering b2business and b2consumer
Maximise all available functionality from current product platform and from 3rd party supplier management platforms
Understand broader Argos digital developments particularly in relation to customer journey experience – ensure that gift card is on the agenda for www.argos.co.uk MY Account, digital wallets, etc

How I will succeed

Define and implement a clear New Product Development methodology and procedure for all aspects of Argos Gifting
Achieve credible status of Gift Card Product Manager and expert across Argos
Successfully document all aspects of the product and the process to ensure that no individual becomes a single point of dependency for Gift card
Deliver the consistency of BAU, process, and change approach in the Gifting arena within Sainsbury’s Argos
Migrate all b2b client ordering to a self service solution within 12 months, driving improved client experience and reducing operating cost
Stop issuing values to customer A.Cards by April 2018
Agree a viable plan to close down outstanding A.Card balances over a 24 month period from April 2018 (ends May 2020)

Demonstrate credibility with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally, displaying a broad range of influencing styles
Drive and determination to take ownership of the product development programme
Strength of character to challenge the business leadership, and the strategy and the decisions being made
Looks outside of Sainsbury’s Argos to improve the way that we do things and how we need to beat the competition
A drive and determination to succeed, to deliver difficult and complex projects, and to challenge the status quo to overcome ‘can’t do’ attitudes and beliefs
Uses relevant language to ensure messages are received by everyone in the right way
A keen focus on customer outcomes – be the challenger, play the part of ‘customer’

An ability to transfer complex and technical solutions, products, processes and documentation in to BAU, and to transfer role holder knowledge in to the BAU team
