Right now, a Designer is needed to work collaboratively as part of the Digital Design team across all digital platforms to provide high-quality creative that engage and inspire our customers. You must have previous retail experience and have a well-presented folio of well-known brands showing execution of digital ideas from concept to delivery, be highly conceptual and have strong Mac skills.

While reporting to the Visual Lead based in Milton Keynes offices, you will play a key role in delivering high quality, compelling digital design and promotional content (in accordance with brand guidelines) that ensures their interactive experiences are better than the rest of the industry leading brands.

You will translate concepts and creative briefs into customer-centric content designs, champion design principles and deliver on-brand assets optimised for digital campaigns across desktop and mobile site, product graphics, email promotions, social media graphics, animation and banner ads that enable Argos to stay ahead of the curve.

To qualify... You should be a Digital / Visual / Web Designer or similar with a CV and portfolio that demonstrates:

Essential

Highly motivated.
Creative eye for design.
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and Sketch.
Basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
Experience with responsive web platform.
Strong typographic skills.
Maintaining brand consistency and adhering to best practice in design and brand guidelines.
Strong Knowledge of current web best practices, usability guidelines and accessibility requirements.
Keep up-to-date with recent digital innovations, competitors and design developments, and think of innovative ways to incorporate them into projects.
Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously; manage and prioritise a high-volume workload calmly under pressure.
Passion for exploring & learning new skills, techniques and solving problems.
Keen to share knowledge and work collaboratively.
Experience of working cross-functionally preferably across web, buying, merchandising, digital development and UX teams.
Enthusiastic and engaging; able to communicate with diverse group of stakeholders.

Advantageous

Experience of copywriting and editing.
HTML 4 and 5, JavaScript and CSS 3 skills.
Experience of coaching other designers and providing quality assurance for their work is desirable.
Educated to degree level or equivalent – in a creative discipline.
Experience of working with content management systems.
