The Role:

The Analytics Finance team leads the development of strategic financial/commercial analytical tools in collaboration with non-finance partners to drive better quality business insight which enables the business to make quicker, more effective decisions that can enhance performance across all areas of the business.

In this role you will support the delivery and roll-out of new analytical platforms across commercial, operational and wider finance teams and embedding these platforms into reporting and decision making. Drive profitable business decisions through turning new and innovative data and analytics into meaningful insight and action, working closely with the commercial and operational teams across the business to deliver and track the business benefits. Work closely with the Analytics Development Manager to prioritise, manage and roll-out a program of innovative analytics development across the broader finance teams.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Support the implementation of insights which drive productive action and improved business performance, including:

Utilising strategic financial/commercial analytical tools in collaboration with non-finance partners to drive better quality business insight which enables the business to make quicker, more effective decisions.
Strong commercial and operational knowledge to translate analytics into meaningful decisions and actions which can be used to support decision making.
Business partnering the commercial teams in order to identify potential opportunities provide high quality analysis and support the delivery of key customer initiatives across the business.
Liaising with various functions applying great commercial and operational understanding to support the initiative in that area.
Work collaboratively with the analytics development team to design, create and roll-out creative and innovative analytics across finance and non-finance teams.
Work closely with the customer insight team to consider all impacts of a decision when building analytics models and to fully understand the customer impact upon on analytics models or analysis being provided.

Communication and presentation of finance analytics initiatives, including:

Supporting the roll-out of SQL training and analytics functionality to wider finance team.
Regular updates at Buying Manager's and Trading Manager Forum.

Responsible for delivering, tracking and reporting on the business benefits delivered through the finance analytics team in conjunction with non-finance stakeholders.
Support the delivery of effective training to Finance & Non-Finance stakeholders and frequently share any additional lessons learned to drive forward the analytics capability within the finance team.

Your skills & experience will include:

Graduate calibre qualified accountant with at least 3 years' finance experience
Solid commercial acumen and business partnering skills
Clear understanding of database's and management accounting and reporting
Ability to present complex information in a simplified manner
Strong analytical skills, Excel & Powerpoint skills and attention to detail
Track record of innovation and value creation
Strong analytical skills supported by excellent IT skills in Excel. Business Objects knowledge desirable.
Possess strong influencing skills with ability to influence a range of stakeholders across all levels.
Team player with good pesentation and communication skills (both verbal & written)
Experience in a large company environment, preferably Retail or Audit.
