COMPANY DESCRIPTION

CBI & AREVA MOX Services, LLC is a consortium of companies based in Aiken, SC and formed to advance the Department of Energy's mission to dispose of surplus weapon grade plutonium. The plutonium is disposed of by mixing it with uranium and forming a mixed oxide (MOX) fuel for use in existing nuclear reactors. After the MOX fuel is irradiated in the reactor, the plutonium can no longer be used for nuclear weapons. AREVA Federal Services provides resources to MOX Services for the design, construction, licensing and operations of the MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF) to be built at the Savannah River Site. Resources provided are in the following disciplines: Licensing, ES&H, Integrated Safety Analysis, QA, Engineering Assurance, Process Engineering, Systems Engineering, Design and Engineering (Structural, Electrical, I &C, Seismic, Nuclear Criticality, Piping, Mechanical, HVAC), Project Safety, Procurement, Project Controls, Software Design, Training, Records Management, Operations, and Information Technology.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Orano Federal Services LLC, a subsidiary of Orano, is seeking a Software Engineer I - II.

This position will work in automation domain involved with automation of manufacturing process systems. The Software Engineer will report to the Lead Automation Engineer. After initial orientation and training the Software Engineer will work either individually or in a small team and expected to become relatively autonomous within the context of the current project. Projects will be varied and include new software development, updates to existing developments, software testing, and trouble shooting. .

Additional responsibilities will include the following :

Development of PLC software that meets the projects requirements including for some applications the reuse of existing applications from the MFFF reference facilities.

Interpreting/Synthesizing a process control system into written requirements based on upstream specifications, software design documents, and code reviews.

Provide technical review of software requirements specifications, software design documents, and code reviews.

·
Execution of work within the constraints of the approved budget and schedule, and in conformation with the required quality standards.

·
Assure that functional deliveries are properly placed under software configuration management.

·
Demonstrate initiative and motivation necessary to assess problems and develop solutions with minimum assistance from supervisors.

Able to understand and apply software development standards, regulations, and other project specific requirements applied to software development.

·
Willing to assume other duties as assigned to support the Lead Domain Engineers in their duties.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
·  Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field of engineering, plus a minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience
·  0-2 years relevant experience in automation design; either process, manufacturing, government, nuclear power or other relevant business sectors.
·  Experience with computer programming in sufficient depth to demonstrate understanding of the principles and practices of programming.
·  Experience with function block diagram programming language.
·  Good understanding of structured Software Development Lifecyle processes.
·  Team-oriented and excellent written and verbal communication skills
·  Skilled in the use of Microsoft OS and Office applications.
·  Good understanding of a structured Software Development Lifecycle.
·  Proficient in C, C++, and SQL.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
·  Prior experience with automation in a manufacturing facility, particularly facilities with regulated environments such as commercial nuclear power, pharmaceuticals, or the FDA.
·  Experience with either Modbus or Profibus industrial networks.
·  Experience in other programming languages such as VB, C, C++, C#, or SQL.
·  Prior experience or familiarity with Siemens S7, Schneider Unity Pro environment, or Schneider Triconex PLC.
