CBI & AREVA MOX Services, LLC is a consortium of companies based in Aiken, SC and formed to advance the Department of Energy's mission to dispose of surplus weapon grade plutonium. The plutonium is disposed of by mixing it with uranium and forming a mixed oxide (MOX) fuel for use in existing nuclear reactors. After the MOX fuel is irradiated in the reactor, the plutonium can no longer be used for nuclear weapons. AREVA Federal Services provides resources to MOX Services for the design, construction, licensing and operations of the MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF) to be built at the Savannah River Site. Resources provided are in the following disciplines: Licensing, ES&H, Integrated Safety Analysis, QA, Engineering Assurance, Process Engineering, Systems Engineering, Design and Engineering (Structural, Electrical, I &C, Seismic, Nuclear Criticality, Piping, Mechanical, HVAC), Project Safety, Procurement, Project Controls, Software Design, Training, Records Management, Operations, and Information Technology.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Orano Federal Services LLC, a subsidiary of Orano, is seeking a Safety Control System Software Engineer III - IV.

The Software Engineer has technical development responsibility for the development and maintenance of SCA application software which is primarily programmable logic controller based. Technical responsibility also includes configuration and interface with misc digital devices included in the SCAS as well as interface and communication to non-safety control systems.

Additional responsibilities will include the following:

Work at the direction of the automation lead and give regular progress reporting.

Supervise the development team and produce software products in a quality, timely and cost effective manner.

·
Follow the project safety principles.

·
Evaluate impact of proposed software changes and prepare change control requests.

·
Interface with process design engineering and other internal customers on the project.

·
Support the commissioning test of the digital safety controllers including troubleshooting as necessary

·
Be the primary contract with the independent verification and validation group that evaluates and test completed software.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
·  Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field of engineering, plus a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
·  Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in automation design; either process, manufacturing, government, nuclear power or other relevant business sectors.
·  Must be able to understand and apply software development standards, regulations, and other project specific requirements applied to software development.
·  Experience with function block diagram programming language and good understanding of structured Software Development Lifecyle Processes.
·  Team-oriented and excellent written and verbal communication skills
·  Skilled in the use of Microsoft OS and Office applications.
·  Good understanding of a structured Software Development Lifecycle.
·  Proficient in C, C++, and SQL.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
·  Experience with programming Triconex triple modular redundant programmable logic controllers.
·  Previous experience in automation in regulated environments such as commercials nuclear power, pharmaceuticals or the FDs.
·  Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, .net, VB and C#.
·  Experience with Modbus or other industrial network protocols.
·  Prior experience or familiarity with Siemens S7 PLC, or Schneider Unity programmable logic controllers.
