Marketing Analyst, Merchant Loyalty – GMS Marketing

Global Merchant Services Marketing is dedicated to bringing buyers and sellers together and transforming how American Express is welcomed. GMS Marketing is responsible for partnering with GMS markets to drive profitable growth, accelerate coverage and enhance the value of Amex acceptance to merchants and Card Members at scale. We focus on enhancing our relationships with millions of merchants of all shapes and sizes, and our geographic purview includes many commerce hubs across the globe including the U.S, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

It is also critical for GMS Marketing to collaborate effectively with Card Issuing teams and other sister organizations across the Blue Box in order to fully harness the power of the closed loop via mediums including Custom Consulting, Offers, Recommendations, Multi-Merchant Campaigns, Digital Experiences and Brand Awareness. GMS Marketing partners with organizations including Client Management, Marketing Operations, Information Management, Enterprise Digital, Global Advertising and Brand Management and Global Servicing Network.

Position Description
This is a critical marketing role on the Small Merchant Loyalty team within the U.S. Merchant Marketing organization (USMM). The successful candidate will join the team to support the execution of various high priority marketing campaigns and initiatives to deepen engagement with our small merchants as measured by retention, charge volume growth, improvement in Net Promoter Scores (NPS) and campaign performance metrics. This role will report to a Sr. Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities
USMM Marketing Calendar:
· Maintain a holistic view of all Marketing communications going to US Merchants
· Review and approve marketing requests targeting the US Small Merchant base by collaborating across USMM and business partner teams

Marketing Execution:
· Support the Merchant Loyalty team by developing and submitting mail plans for multi-channel marketing campaigns
· Pull and package post campaign marketing metrics; Update and maintain team's scorecard and results dashboard;
· Assist the team in performing quality testing on campaigns prior to deployment and liaison with agencies, when needed

Team Budget:
· Manage the Merchant Loyalty team budget by tracking YTD spend and remaining funds, processing invoices and accruals;
· Partner with relevant business partners such as Marketing Managers, Budget Managers, Finance, vendors and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure utilization and accuracy of budget

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will be a pro-active team player who has the following attributes:

·  At least 1 – 3 years of work experience, with an interest in marketing
·  The successful candidate will be a quick learner with very strong communication and analytical skills
·  Strong project management / organizational skills and superior attention to detail to ensure end to end flawless execution
·  Strong relationship management skills—must be able to work well with internal and external partners to achieve shared objectives
·  Ability to handle competing deadlines for multiple stakeholders and excels at managing time and priorities in a fast-paced environment
·  Ability to be flexible and respond to changing circumstances
·  Experience with direct marketing (e.g. email, direct mail) and budget is a plus
·  Bachelor's degree required
