Transportation Planning Manager

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Track existing metrics to detect & remove defects
· Analyze existing trucking versus required capacity, especially to support peak
· Project support ensuring Amazon requirements are communicated & executed
· Support the Operations Planning (OP) Process: goal settings
· Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
· Accountable for maintaining and executing the creation of the line haul schedule, associated systems & input files
· Manage the team to perform ongoing analysis & work with appropriate teams to develop and improve scheduling methodologies and systems
· Accountable for managing and improving scheduling metrics to identify trends and shortcomings and drive scheduling accuracy
· Facilitate communication and coordination between different teams (Supply &Operations Planning, Fulfillment Centers, Final Mile, Carrier Management) and coordinate the creation of a schedule that meets all stakeholder’s expectations and concerns
· Deep dive call outs from stakeholders, identifying problem statements, root causes & corrective actions through to solution
· Produce metrics for each of the tasks executed by the team
· Able to escalate if needed the problems or variance in the information to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure they are delivered
· Attend & organise calls to manage network change / improvements
· Continuous review & improvement of processes

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· 2+ years of experience working within transportation industry
· Proficiency in SQL
· Master’s degree or equivalent in Logistics/Supply Chain/Mathematics/Science/Engineering/Business Development
· Experience developing and growing a business/start-up/association

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Statistics, Finance or related industry experience
· Excellent communication, both verbal and written as one will be required to communicate with external and internal stakeholders
· Advanced computer proficiency in Excel
· Fluent in English
· Should be comfortable with a multi-tasking in a high-energy environment
