Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers the physical engine at the heart of Amazon. AFT builds and operates software, hardware, and processes that run the global network of fulfillment centers that move many millions of units of inventory, employ tens of thousands of people, and ensure that customers get what they want by the promised date/time. We do this by building automated solutions to handle things that technology does well, while relying on people to handle things that humans do well. Our environment is global and complex with a variety of software, systems, industrial machines and protocols. In the service of our customers, we are innovating and constantly improving in the areas of material handling automation, computer vision, machine learning, robotics, logistics, transportation etc., in order to accelerate the delivery of products and packages through Amazon Fulfillment Network.

The Operations Technology team under Fulfillment & Robotics organization, supports all of the software and infrastructure that powers Amazon's world-class fulfillment engine. The Operations Technology team in India is looking for a Technical Program manager to support worldwide expansion of Amazon Fulfillment network.

As a Technical Program Manager you will interface with various Business/Operations/Technology partners, understand business/customer ideas/thoughts, convert them into detailed technical requirements and prepare roadmap. You will work closely with staff engineers of Node Launch & Automation team, Technology Service teams and drive innovation and best practice adoption.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for working on behalf of teams and customers, have a track record of on-time delivery of large scale projects, and have the ability to operate independently and autonomously. Maturity, judgment, communication skills, negotiation skills and influencing skills are all essential as you interact with cross functional teams worldwide.

Some of the key job functions include
· Work with key stakeholders in Business, Operations, Engineering, and Service/Development teams to ensure requirements are translated into actionable roadmaps
· Manage cross-team dependencies, risks, and trade-offs against developer experience and time to market
· Lead effective and efficient delivery of the large, complex projects
· Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet business goals
· Communicate regularly with senior management, stakeholders on status, risks and change control
· Establish business processes and policies, as well as metrics and indicators for success
· Drive engineering and integration decisions and timelines across multiple teams and organizations
· Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience in program managing the develpment / support of large scale highly available and distributed systems
· Technical Skills - Programming Languages (Java/Python/Ruby, etc.), Web technologies, Cloud/AWS
· Exposure to software systems Architecture/Design
· Track record of troubleshooting, simplifying, operational excellence and a focus on automation
· Agile Principles, Values and Practices
· Good data mining and analytical skills as well as proven process management skills.

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 5+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
· 2+ years of technical program management experience
· Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
· Bachelor's/ Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field
· 3+ years of Technical Program Management, Project management experience in related field.
· Customer centric orientation as evidenced by the quality and efficacy of products, services, and support delivered.
· A creative problem solver who proactively seeks out system/process improvements in support of his/her customers
· Experience defining projects, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new features sets
· Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
