Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for systems engineers to support RoboMaker, the first AWS service in the Robotics category that makes it easy for developers to develop, test, and deploy robotics applications using cloud services. RoboMaker extends the most widely used open-source robotics software framework, Robot Operating System (ROS), with connectivity to cloud services including machine learning services, monitoring services, and analytics services to enable a robot to stream data, navigate, communicate, comprehend, and learn. RoboMaker also provides an AWS Cloud9-based robotics development environment for application development, a robotics simulation service to accelerate application testing, and a fleet management service for remote application deployment, update, and management.

We're looking for a systems engineer to join our team in our Herndon, VA location. In this role, you will support RoboMaker engineering and operations. This will include identifying and resolving issues, automating repetitive processes, and working closely with development teams. You will dive deep into code and logs, drive prioritization of operational issues, and become intimate with the architecture of our systems.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 5+ years Linux systems engineering experience
· 2+ years networking experience (TCP/IP)
· 2+ year experience building scripts, tooling, and automation for large-scale computing environments.
· Experience in at least two of: Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash/Shell
· Experience in 24x7 production environments
This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. citizen and must currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and satisfy other security related requirements.
