DESCRIPTION

AWS is looking for a Sr Systems Engineering and Ops Leader to help us grow our systems and support organization within Compute Cloud (EC2). You will be working with internal customers to execute projects and resolve issues that affect the entire EC2 Network.

In this role you will get to lead a strong team with sound fundamentals of service engineering, and run operations in an environment where engineers do not toss problems over the wall. You will be working with empowered and world-class engineers to meet world-class challenges.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Demonstrated success building and leading teams
· Performance engineering and capacity planning background
· Leading development life cycle processes and best practices, esp. in the areas of deployment automation and monitoring
· Deployment and usage of monitoring systems
· Leading software development organizations in a “DevOps” model
· Exposure with distributed systems at scale
· Forecasting and capacity planning systems
· Experience with Agile engineering practices (Agile, continuous delivery, etc.)

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
· 7 + years of relevant hands-on systems engineering and administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems
· 3 + years of experience as the systems engineering and operations leader for an Internet service or leading-edge IT organization
· Systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
· This position requires the candidate selected be a U.S. Person and obtain ITAR certification
