DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services is looking for experienced engineers to help us define and build the future of computing. The AWS Elastic Block Store (EBS) service delivers cloud scale high performance block storage for EC2. Durable storage is a key building block for many applications and services, as a member of the EBS team you'll work alongside other outstanding engineers to develop and operate one of the largest storage services in the world.

The EBS Server-Core team is looking for experienced technical experts in large scale, distributed storage systems to help innovate in the engine that powers the EBS infrastructure. You will be part of the team that owns core pieces of the EBS service, running on thousands of servers in multiple data-centers all over the world. You will own the design, development and management of critical components directly impacting the availability, durability, performance measurement, metrics and functionality in the lower layers of AWS. This is a hands-on position, successful candidates will bring deep technical and software expertise at layers across the software stack with an ability to work in a fast moving environment while delivering stable, reliable and maintainable systems that have broad business impact.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 5 years of development experience working with enterprise / large scale systems.
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
· Deep knowledge on System fundamentals and Linux systems.
· System programming skills.
· Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and/or distributed systems.
