Job description

DESCRIPTION

Do you want to advance the state-of-the-art for robot simulations and virtual worlds? AWS RoboMaker is a new platform for running robotics simulations at scale in the cloud, and we’re looking for a leader that is passionate about building software for content generation, large-scale machine learning, and scenario testing. Come join us if you want to build cutting-edge services that enable cloud robotics!

In this role, your team will be designing, building, and supporting new features for robotics simulation and robot fleet management. You'll own the AWS RoboMaker control plane and its workflows, including simulation job management and simulated world generation via AWS RoboMaker WorldForge. You will design and build new features, identify and investigate new technologies, and prototype solutions, to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in an Agile/Scrum development environment to build services that enable robotics simulation. You'll work closely with your team to architect and develop the best technical design and approach. You are passionate about attracting and developing a world-class team that welcomes, celebrates, and leverages a diverse set of backgrounds and skillsets to deliver results. Driving results through others is your primary responsibility, and doing so in a way that builds on our diverse and inclusive culture is key to our long-term success. We’re committed to your growth and development; you will have the opportunity to initiate, lead, and deliver org-wide initiatives that will improve the life of our entire team.

Maintaining a work-life balance is important to us. Although we keep core work hours between 10 am and 4 pm, we are flexible when people occasionally need to work from home. In AWS, we operate what we build, and we have a modest on-call rotation where you’ll participate about once every two months.
