Position Responsibilities:
ComiXology is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Web development team focusing on designing and implementing innovative features. What You'll Do:
Lead the testing of large-scale systems, create test plans, test cases, and drive continuous improvements to the quality assurance processes using Internet and Web technologies including Apache, HTTP, XML, HTML, Load Balancing, and DNS. Develop tests using Java and Shell Scripts in a Linux environment, document and coordinate the deployment of manual and automated tests for complex systems, and test mobile device development kits and device frame works. Design and build automated test cases for mobile device based graphical user interface using test automation frameworks such as VNC Robot and Java. Design, develop, and execute quality assurance test cases and support tests for large-scale, distributed software systems using Java including white and black box tests. Work closely with engineers, business owners, and customer service professionals throughout the development and testing lifecycle, including the requirements gathering and design. Consult with and advise project management and development teams on technical issues related to planning, developing, implementing, and modifying testing procedures. Use functional specifications to plan, create, or sign-off on test plans, test cases, and automated test cases. Provide regular, detailed status report on project progress, including test cases executed, bugs discovered, and bugs fixed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Position Requirements:
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered or as a Programmer/Analyst, Quality Assurance Engineer, Software Test Developer, or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field, and five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Master's degree and one year of experience. One year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation must involve: developing tests for large-scale software systems using Java or Shell Scripts in a Windows, UNIX, or Linux environment; and documenting and coordinating the deployment of manual and automated tests for complex systems.

· 5+ years testing experience on mobile applications
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience working in software development or quality organizations, writing QA tools and automated tests for web-based and mobile applications
· Proven track record to creating and executing on highly effective quality processes
· Experience driving end-to-end software quality
· Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools.
· Experience in writing test plans, test automation, or test cases.
· Is innovative, can simplify, and has relentlessly high standards
· Can juggle testing of multiple releases with multiple dependencies
· Able to handle an extremely fast pace while maintaining the highest quality standards
