At Alexa Shopping, we strive to enable shopping in everyday life by bringing together Amazon’s shopping experience with voice-activated Alexa. We allow customers to instantly order whatever they need, by simply interacting with Alexa on their devices such as Amazon Echo, Echo Show, Fire TV, and others.

The Alexa Shopping Multimodal organization is responsible for delivering the best shopping experience on Alexa display devices. We solve problems such as how to handle customer interaction at 10 feet from the device, versus interacting using touch, and streaming content to extend the purchase experience with Alexa. Our mission is to make Alexa the best way to shop on Amazon!

We are seeking the best software engineers in the industry to help us create entirely new ways for our customers to interact, search and shop.

As an engineer in the Alexa Shopping Fire TV team, you will build a world class voice shopping experience on the biggest screen in our customers’ homes. You will provide customers the most delightful lean-back voice shopping experience through Alexa. You will have the freedom and encouragement to experiment, improve, invent, and innovate on behalf of our customers. You will build software in the full stack, use highly scalable, cutting-edge technologies and interact with teams throughout Amazon. You will have the satisfaction of being able to deliver value to customers in a fast-paced, iterative environment, as well as look back and say you were a big part of something truly innovative from the earliest stages. You will have a direct impact on our products, technologies and the future of shopping. The Alexa Shopping Fire TV team is based in London, UK.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s (or above) Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
· Professional experience in software development
· Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Objective C, JavaScript, etc.
· Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
· Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis
· Software engineering fundamentals in testing: Unit Testing, Integration Testing, etc.
· Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills
