It's been just a little over 5 years since the Alexa was first launched and today there are hundreds of millions of Alexa devices in customers' hands worldwide. Alexa Skills enables enterprises take advantage of Amazon's latest innovations in voice and allows their customers to use their content & services through Alexa devices. Hundreds of thousands of developers are building Alexa skills that engage and delight their customers.

ASK Platform Services team owns a bunch of services that helps skill developers programmatically perform various Alexa skill management tasks. We are looking for to hire passionate, hard-working, and talented engineers to own and drive the exciting new initiatives on the services, libraries and frameworks used by Alexa Skill developers around the world. This a rare opportunity to be a part of a fast-growing business soon after launch, and help shape the technology and product as we grow. You will have an opportunity to make an impact on the design and implementation of the products used by developers to deliver magical experiences to millions of users in the fast-evolving voice development space.

We'll be looking at you to-
· Work on project ideas, design and implementation with customers, PMs, senior/principal engineers and peer developers.
· Be proficient in broad range of design approaches.
· Build scalable services without over-engineering.
· Produce high code quality with complete test coverage and apply best practices reusability where possible.
· Focus on operational excellence.
· Contribute in various technical discussions/reviews/brainstorming sessions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· 2+ years of professional experience in software development
· Experience in building REST APIs
· Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
· Knowledge of software design patterns and their application across multiple programming languages
· Participation in open source projects
· Extreme focus on creating high quality code and best practices in one or more programming languages
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Strong analytical skills, with excellent problem solving abilities.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
· Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
· 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
