Job description

DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Search team creates powerful, customer-focused search and advertising solutions and technologies. Whenever a customer visits an Amazon site worldwide and types in a query or browses through product categories, Amazon Product Search services go to work. We design, develop, and deploy high performance, fault-tolerant distributed search systems used by millions of Amazon customers every day.

Amazon's Search Insights team brings visibility in to how Amazon users search and browse for products. Product Search and related teams use our data sets to power live-site features including search result ranking. Business leaders at Amazon rely on these insights to run their business effectively.

We seek a Program Manager to drive a global effort focused on reducing poor quality search results (called defects). The Search Defects Measurement Program Manager will own the process of measuring defects for Amazon Search worldwide. In this role, you will partner with a team of data scientists, full stack engineers, content reviewers and third party vendors. You will create and own cross-functional project plans related to search relevance measurement, establish processes, identify tool needs, and own the tracking and reporting mechanisms. You will anticipate bottlenecks, assess risks, drive deliverables, and make trade-offs balancing business needs with technical constraints. You'll help analyze customer behavior, propose solutions, implement big ideas, and measure the results.

Joining this team you'll experience the benefits of working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, while leveraging the resources of Amazon.com (AMZN), one of the world's leading internet companies. We provide a highly customer-centric, team-oriented environment in our offices located in Palo Alto, California.
