The Role:

As a Principal SoC Architect, you will be responsible for defining the architecture and feature set of SoCs that are used in range of Lab126 products, including streaming media, Echo and IoT devices. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary groups including Product Design, Industrial Design, Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Reliability and Operations, to drive key aspects of SoC feature set that meets the requirements of products. You will work with the SoC partners to ensure their roadmaps and feature sets are aligned to our product needs, and ensure they can deliver to the quality bar.

In this role, you will:
· Design world class hardware
· Work with vendors to anticipate issues and influence their roadmaps
· Interact with cross functional engineering teams across the company
· Dive into and take ownership for critical design issues
· Participate in design reviews
· Address all aspects of technology readiness, including manufacturability
· Help build robust methodology and processes to deliver technology to products

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· PhD in Electronic Engineering or related field
· Experience leading an SoC project as a lead architect from conception to launch and has experience in all aspects of SoC design, including front-end architecture development, RTL design and synthesis, RTL modeling and verification, power and performance, and manufacturing and qualification.
· Experience designing SoC interconnects for high throughput media blocks and CPUs
· Experience with ARM and x86 ISA
· Experience working as a Technical Lead
· Technical document writing experience using Visio, Word, Excel, and / or PowerPoint
· Expertise in at least one of the following areas: video system architecture, audio DSPs, low power WiFi and BT, graphics and display engines.
· Familiarity with silicon manufacturing process, including silicon qualification
· Familiarity with embedded software development and debugging: GNU/Linux device drivers, firmware, IDE (ex: Eclipse, Visual Studio)
· Knowledge of revision control and document control

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Master's degree in Electronic Engineering or related field
· 10+ years of experience in SoCs and/or silicon development
· 2+ years of experience in the domain listed above
· 2+ years of experience in RTL design, synthesis and timing closure
· 2+ years of DFx (Design for cost, test, manufacturing)
