We're looking for an outstanding Principal Research Scientist who combines superb technical, research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively.

In this role, you will work on high impact geo-spatial and optimization projects. This person must be comfortable working with a team of top-notch developers and collaborating with other Amazon teams. We're looking for someone who innovates, and loves solving hard problems!

Export Control License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon's ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· PhD in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics
· 10+ years of industry experience
· Experience with writing skills for presenting business cases and to document the models and analysis and present the results/conclusions in order to influence important decisions
· Experience with optimization, systems engineering, and system simulation
· Experience with data visualization and/or geo-spatial analysis
