DESCRIPTION

The Optimal Inventory Health (OIH) team owns inventory health management worldwide across all Amazon businesses and formats including retail and FBA sellers. We use a dynamic programming model to maximize the net present value of inventory driving actions such as pricing markdowns, removals, and advertising.

The OIH Principal Product Manager - Technical (PMT) is responsible for defining and driving the vision of the team. This leader is responsible for identifying and prioritizing opportunities to achieve our mission through the design and delivery of algorithmic improvements and new technical products/features that span multiple teams/functions and have direct impact on the Amazon's bottom line. This responsibility for the team's WW operations include owning inventory health across all Amazon businesses and countries, in addition to defining business and success metrics for projects, system performance, and driving analytical deep dives to inform the team's business decisions.
This role is the main conduit for the team's senior management communication up to the SVP level. Furthermore, it includes regular communication with Retail, Finance, and supply chain senior management regarding day-to-day operations and progress of projects, representing the team in weekly/monthly/quarterly business. Finally, the person in this role is responsible for team leadership activities, including hiring and developing the product management team, and mentoring/coaching other team members to advance in their career.
The Principal PMT is the lead strategist and tactician of the OIH team. S/he owns the long term vision for the OIH space and uses this to synthesize and organize the execution of diverse use case requests across Amazon businesses and programs.
A successful candidate will be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused, team oriented, and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. The Principal Product Manager will have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Engineering or Technology
· 8-12 years of Product management experience in technology or SaaS companies
· Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, support scope of requirements and prioritize
· Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills.
· Proven track record of delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality
· An entrepreneurial mindset, with the tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in fast-paced environment is crucial
