Our AWS Infrastructure Supply Chain and Procurement team is looking for a results-oriented leader to lead innovative technical, supply and operational models to support power and cooling of data centers.

The Principal Supply Chain leader will provide thought leadership for the Power and Cooling Procurement and Supply Chain team in support of key data center initiatives. This leader must create clear action plans to drive new and existing product supportability, identify new or existing suppliers to best optimize product offerings, and provide data driven recommendations to customer and infrastructure leadership. In this role you will lead internal engagements across Supply Chain, Engineering and Construction Management organizations while diving deep into technologies and operations both from a product and Supply Chain perspective. You will analyze business plans, data mine critical cost and supply chain variables, and be an integral partner with multiple AWS infrastructure and finance leaders. You will be responsible for identifying and onboarding vendors/suppliers, developing strategies to secure supply, reduce cost, minimize risk, and utilize emerging opportunities, allowing AWS to meet and exceed its goals. The successful candidate will not only be a Procurement and Supply Chain SME with a track record of delivering results, but will also excel in communication, leadership, and customer obsession. They will bring deep technical expertise of demand and supply and ability to work within a fast moving, startup environment in a large company to deliver solid results that have broad business impact.

This role will report to the Procurement Director and work closely with Procurement, Data Center Engineering, Legal, Supply Chain, Construction Management, Operations and the internal software teams to drive supplier development and sourcing strategies. As a Principal, the individual will also be expected to provide technology training and input to the category and supply managers working in the team. The role will be based in Seattle, WA or Dublin, Ireland and will involve some travel both domestic and internationally

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field
· MBA or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Management, or Technology preferred
· Experience in High/Medium Voltage distribution systems, substations & micro-grids with knowledge of utility requirements preferred
· Experience in new data center cooling technologies preferred
· Experienced in delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility environment
· Ability to work with teams at all levels of the organization.
· Experience in hyperscale data center supply chains with working knowledge about Code Compliance (NEC, IEEE, ANSI, IEC & ASHRAE)
· Outstanding oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
· Exceptional analytical and project management skills
· Exhibits excellent business judgment
· 15+ years professional experience in supply chain or technical operations
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
