The Role:

We’re seeking a talented and passionate Industrial Designer to lead the design for this new effort. You will be working with a unique and gifted multidisciplinary group of engineers and scientists engaged in this fast-paced mission. The team faces a challenging task of balancing cost, schedule, and performance requirements. You should be comfortable collaborating in a fast-paced and often uncertain environment, and contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstrating leadership, technical competence, and meticulousness.

This Industrial Designer will be directly responsible for delivering all aspects of the physical experience (and ideally the digital experience as well), from concepts and prototypes all the way to production. This designer will work collaboratively within a team of other designers, researchers, engineers and product managers, creating a holistic product experience at the highest standards for our customers.

A successful candidate will deliver world-class design solutions and have the creativity and judgment to translate a customer-centric design vision into concepts that are simple, intuitive and visually refined despite underlying complexity or constraints. This designer will possess an exceptional eye for detail, form and proportion and must embrace a highly iterative approach to design informed by the latest technologies and industry trends. Additionally, this designer must be articulate and possess the communication skills to convey proposals and specifications to other teams and disciplines within the organization at all levels.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related field of study
· Minimum of 12 years of relevant design experience
· Excellent sketching and 3D craftsmanship. Experience with 3D modeling packages (Rhino/SolidWorks), 2D packages (Photoshop and Illustrator), and 3D Rendering (Keyshot).
· 3+ years model making experience in consumer electronics or similar industry producing and post-processing 3D print, using some, or all, of the following 3D printers; Objets, Connex, and Eden
