We are looking for a subject matter expert and leader for kids and family trust. The successful candidate will strategize to develop and implement successful global programs and initiatives that prioritize features to enhance kids and family trust in our products and services. This leader is able to combine the ability to think big, strategize, and lead with the skill of diving deep into the details of policy and program development. In addition, the Principal, Family Trust will work collaboratively and as a conduit across product, legal, PR, and public policy groups; advise on new feature development, product roadmaps, research, marketing and communications strategies; and serve as an in-house consultant on family trust and children’s use of Amazon products and services. As a thought leader for kids and family trust, the successful candidate will work to develop a network of external influencers and advocates to educate about Amazon’s industry-leading child and family-centered products and service. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who is passionate about technology serving kids and families; has excellent communication and organizational skills; effectively collaborates across teams to develop partnerships and trust; and successfully influences stakeholders with an in-depth understanding of child and family online safety and trust issues. This position will report to the Director, Family Trust.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Actively develop a deep understanding of Amazon FreeTime products and services, including role of these technologies in the lives of children and their families
· Define and drive the development of the Family Trust strategy and function within Amazon
· Engage and build relations with external policy makers, NGOs, trade associations, and key opinion leaders
· Balance business priorities with risk identification and mitigation
· Continually improve processes, policies, and programs that relate to kids and family trust and safety online
· Work with business leadership to develop emerging issue or critical incident response protocols
· Act as a spokesperson for internal and external communications

· Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment even in ambiguous situations; strategic and analytical capabilities, including using data to drive strategy and business action

· Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
· Demonstrated ability to anticipate developments, think ahead, and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders
· Critically analyze inputs from internal stakeholders and external policy makers, NGOs, trade associations and key opinion leaders to define long term global and localized policy stances, standards, and strategies
· Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to express complex issues using clear customer-focused language tailored to the intended audience
· Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
· Experience working as an individual contributor with high capabilities of managing through influence
· Experience working in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment
· Team player with sense of humor

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree
· 10+ years of experience working for a large, global organization focused on children’s online trust and safety issues with demonstrated success working internally and cross functionally across legal, public policy, compliance, and digital consumer products
· A passion for and deep understanding of kids and family technology issues
· Experience advocating in public speaking and collaboration with related NGOs and civil society
· Ability to maintain strong internal and external relationships
· Travel (domestic and international) required
