The Role:
As a Principal Digital RF Engineer, you will act as a subject matter expert in large aperture phased array antennas and multi-beam beamforming. You will interact with experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative product solutions. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team, and third party suppliers to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and optimization. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.

In this technical leadership role of the Digital RF Systems team, you will be responsible for definition, simulation, and high-level implementation (Matlab™/C/C++/System C™/HDL) of massive MIMO beamforming systems. Based on system level constraints, you will develop a solution supporting high throughput / availability, low power, flexibility in capacity, and optimized for RF system constraints. Coordinate with teams from modem to panel front-end module.

In this role you will:
· Develop DSP algorithms, beamforming, and innovative enhancements in spectral efficiency
. Develop advanced calibration algorithms for phased arrays and RF subsystems
· Meet with vendors and technology suppliers to select technologies
· Collaboratively work with communications systems and chip implementation teams
· Simulate / trade-off analysis / validate beam forming implementations and architectures
· Define RF transceiver (including mixed signal such as ADC/DAC) requirements, perform power analysis, and provide key metrics for solution
· Help bring up systems in conjunction with implementation teams

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Master’s / PhD degree in Electrical / Communications Engineering or related field
· Matlab, C/C++, Python simulation experience
. Satellite phased array beamforming
. High Level Synthesis (HLS) or RTL experience
· Good analytical, problem solving and communication skills
. RF and Analog Mixed Signal circuit design experience
· Active analog / digital beamforming phased arrays for communications or radar
· Pre and post digital and RF/Mixed signal silicon validation experience a plus
· Communication Theory, OFDM, MIMO, Digital/Wireless Communication Systems and RF engineering
· Experience with current and upcoming RF standards in cellular (4G/5G NR), WiMAX, 802.11ad, microwave backhaul, or similar broadband wireless standards

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Communications Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
· 10+ years of experience in RF design, HW DSP design, DSP algorithm, or SDR implementation experience
. Direct experience in Multi-beam digital beamforming phased array systems
· Experience in wireless system simulation, design and architecture, system integration, RF system analysis
· Hands on experience with deployed RF communication systems
