Job description

DESCRIPTION

Are you passionate about the cloud? Do you want to help mold the future of how customers build amazing things with AWS? Want to be part of a true start-up within AWS that is tackling a new set of complex problems? Our team is developing and driving the AWS go to market strategy for Sumerian, our new service focused on the Spatial Computing (AR/VR/XR) market. We are looking for skilled and creative business development managers that have experience or interest in Computer Vision, 3D modeling, rendering and image processing. If you have the right blend of passion, enthusiasm, customer advocacy, curiosity and creativity, you may just be right for a role on the AWS Incubation Business Development Team.

In this role your key responsibilities will include:
· Build the Go-To-Market plan. Help define the market segments, customer base, and industry verticals we target. Set a strategic business development plan for target markets and ensure it's in line with the AWS strategic direction. Execute the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, legal, support, etc.).
· Work With Lighthouse Customer and Partners. Build a strong pipeline of customers who are working in key areas of the market or building new and interesting solutions. Work with these customers to become "lighthouse wins" of success.
· Incubate and Launch New Services or Key Features. Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings. Be a part of the core team that works with customers and ensures that we have strong customer references. Drive a plan for sales and partner readiness.
· Strategic Business Development - Focus on complex deals and develop long-term strategic partnerships in support of our key markets.
The ideal candidate will have both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the executive level, as well as a technical background to work with both our engineering teams and customers building solutions with our tools. They should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Excellent written communication skills
· Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills
· Demonstrated effectiveness working across multiple business units to achieve results
· Strong presentation, sales, and negotiation skills
· Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences at the C level
· Track record of closing high value and high profile deals
· Ability to prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team
· Comfortable negotiating contracts
· Strong ownership and bias for action; ability to internalize goals and work independently to create appropriate action plans for those goals
· Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, innovative, and rapidly evolving industry and business organization
