Job description

DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) offers a broad set of global compute, storage, database, analytics, application, and deployment services that help organizations move faster, lower IT costs, and scale applications. We are growing quickly and dynamically, including in our global data center footprint. This role is part of the Infrastructure Global Expansion team, which is responsible for our strategy for data center expansion into new countries and geographies.

In this role, you will own the end-to-end launch responsibility in complex geographies, taking hands-on ownership of a new country expansion. You will manage engagement with local partners and policymakers and represent business goals to those external parties. You will also work with technical teams within AWS to design the infrastructure solution and set of launch services. You will work on new products with ambiguous requirements, and work directly with customers in these geographies to understand how our infrastructure can support their use cases. You will need a broad understanding of AWS services, cloud infrastructure, and policy decisions as they apply to cloud services.

Other responsibilities include:
· Owning expansion strategy recommendations
· Managing communications and documentation around in-flight expansions, including leadership communications
· Working with external parties to identify requirements and prospective partnerships to enable new infrastructure launches
· Improving cost structures for preferred infrastructure architecture
