Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeking a Compensation Principal who will be responsible for partnering with various stakeholders to develop, lead and achieve compensation objectives aligned to a complex and dynamic business model and to assist, in variable incentive compensation plan design consultation.

The successful candidate will proactively identify compensation needs on a current and forward-looking basis and partner with client-facing HR Business Partners and Business Line Management to address compensation and related matters. Primary business lines fall within Sales and Marketing.

You are an influencer - working to gain alignment with different constituencies, representing a common point of view across internal customers. You have the opportunity to leverage central practices in working with international compensation teams for an alignment with global and regional strategies, market conditions, business requirements, and support the approval and deployment of harmonized policies.

What you can expect in this role:
· Ownership of variety of projects including program design, analysis and modeling, budgeting, implementation of new programs, and stock reload.
· Partnering with global stakeholders on compensation issues, and work on a variety of special compensation projects as needed, specifically as it relates to sales and marketing teams
· Drive monthly processes related to stock reload, compensation adjustments, job evaluation, and recruiting team support.
· Perform deep analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation programs and model potential impact of alternatives
· Provide guidance to the business and develop creative solutions on a variety of total compensation issues including the setting of appropriate pay levels, base pay, and stock compensation.
· Partner with the business to develop variable incentive compensation programs, as needed.
· Consult with business on job evaluations using market data and internal evaluation.
· Conduct custom surveys with key industry contacts, as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Highly detailed driven with emphasis on accuracy, coupled with the ability to see the broader picture.
· Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees within the organization
· Graduate degree preferred.
· CCP certification is preferred.
· Peoplesoft experience a plus
· The ability to work independently, take on responsibility and be comfortable in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree is required
· Highly proficient in Excel;
· Minimum of 10 years’ experience in finance, compensation, sales operations/commissions, or consulting with an in-depth knowledge of core compensation terminology and best practices.
· Extremely strong analytical and quantitative skills and a track record for planning, doing, and auditing work.
· General compensation knowledge required including compliance with the state and federal laws that apply to the plans.
· Ability to create dynamic tools and models to interpret and analyze data.
