This role helps our customers who enjoy their VMWare technology bring it to AWS cloud. VMWare Cloud on AWS was built in direct response to feedback from customers and seeks to address the daily pain points of utilizing existing investment in VMWare software and expertise with the desire to scale more, innovate faster, and go global in minutes that only public cloud can provide. It offers a compelling alternative for our customers who today are faced with the need to guess capacity, negotiate data center contracts across multiple countries, and have to say NO too often to their business stakeholders.

After joining our team, you will be provided with ramp-up support and a team of mentors to ensure you get off to a good start. After that, within the first six months, we will ask you to help your first large customer migrate some of their existing VMWare-based workloads onto VMWare Cloud on AWS. Within first 12 months, you will have an opportunity to work with one or more major companies in Korea, present at the next AWS Summits in various parts of APAC, conduct internal training, and publish blogs and whitepapers. You will also have an opportunity to influence the direction of our products by providing actionable customer feedback to the product and engineering managers. Deep technical skills combined with strong customer obsession and ability to communicate clearly are essential to be successful in this role.

You will help our customers design and deploy their VMWare infrastructure on AWS, which may involve coordinating teams from the customer, partners, and many internal AWS teams (e.g., service teams, Support, Professional Services, Sales, field Solutions Architecture). You will work with all stakeholders to convey/capture best practices, assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and encourage appropriate risk-taking behavior to maximize business benefit.

You will have a deep understanding of product design and implementation details and will successfully represent the technical team to senior leadership and customers. Strong written skills is a requirement. Your technical expertise and operational excellence will influence the team's decisions and drive secure and robust solutions. You will convey best practices around AWS services and influence customers to allocate appropriate resources for adopting them. You should not only be passionate about delivering great customer service and deploying VMWare solutions in AWS cloud, but should also be obsessed with accelerating the customers' successful adoption of AWS. Your other responsibilities include:

· Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
· Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS
· Capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solutions architect community
· Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum of 10 years of technology experience, including designing and managing VMWare-based infrastructure and systems.
· Working knowledge of large-scale virtualization and infrastructure technologies.
· Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must.
· 5+ years of key roles implementing large-scale technical solutions.
· Ability to travel locally within Korea (mostly greater Seoul area) and up to 10% internationally.
