Operations Manager - Days Sunday to Thursday - Doncaster

Our AMZL Logistics teams are changing the way we interact with customers around the globe every single day and solving some of the biggest logistical challenges facing not just Amazon, but also the entire industry!!

Amazon's transportation teams work to ensure the delivery of packages globally for our customers around the world. On its busiest day, Cyber Monday, Amazon customers around the world have ordered more than 400 items per second and the transportation teams play a critical role ensuring packages make it to customers' doors on-time and in great condition. Whether its items large or small, we find solutions to make sure we are delivering on our promise for customers.

Our Operations Managers are responsible for management and supervision over the day-to-day operations of delivery stations in the Amazon network, including inbound, outbound, and sortation operations. Area Managers actively engage with site and regional operations leadership to develop and implement new operational improvements and new services. We expect our managers to continually identify ways to improve our operations.

Key Job Duties

· Act as second-in-command to Station Manager in managing to achieve station safety, quality, productivity and CE performance and to include interviewing, hiring, promotions, discipline, and terminations of employment
· Responsible for managing associates to achieve operational metrics for areas of responsibility
· Managing to meet expectations regarding Standard Work, Gemba, reporting and root cause defects
· Conduct daily and weekly performance meetings
· Oversee response to customer/TOC escalations
· Assess and develop future production and labor plans
· Interact with all support teams (LP, quality, safety, HR etc.) to develop plans to meet business objectives
· Analyze and oversight of scheduling and staffing requirements for area of responsibility
· Volume planning/contingency planning
· Serve as Subject Matter Expert for all process areas in the station (Sort, OnRoad, RTS)
· Ensuring process compliance and reporting for areas of responsibility (LP, Safety, Quality, HR)
· Support team interaction and escalation for area of responsibility
· Develop an environment that drives performance while maintaining safe environment and ensure timely reporting
· Point of contact for safety/security issues that occur on site, incident commander in event of an issue
· Day-to-day management/supervision, including coverage and scheduling of Shift Managers
· Oversight and participation in ensuring appropriate performance management for Amazon hourly Associates
· Occasional work in direct process path (if needed)
· Vacation coverage for Station Manager (if needed)
Additional Job Elements:
· Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
· Must be willing and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
· Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
· Must be able to work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· A completed Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or 2+ years Amazon experience
· Direct management experience for employees and their performance; **this is an essential basic qualification for consideration**
· Willingness to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and holidays
· Push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts
· Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
