The Amazon Robotics (AR) Operations organization manufactures high-quality robotics and gets the right materials to the right place at the right time to enable our automated solutions. It's a fast-paced operation that works cross-functionally with teams across Amazon globally, and is driven by data and performance indicators. The NPI Buyer/Planner will have full responsibility for all purchasing activities for a new product from NPI hand-off to end of life. The NPI Buyer/Planner should have a strong background in supply chain purchasing and a thorough knowledge of material planning systems. The successful candidate for this position will have a strong Bias for Action, have a high sense of urgency, and will be driven to meet all service level goals. The NPI Buyer/Planner will be responsible for procuring electronic components, mechanical hardware, motors, batteries, and assemblies in support of engineering projects, new product introduction, and manufacturing at the lowest total cost consistent with acceptable technical, quality, delivery and support requirements. The NPI Buyer/Planner will work collaboratively with multiple business functions in a team environment and will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities
· Purchasing materials, equipment and suppliers from suppliers, including electromechanical and electronic components, batteries, motors, PCB assemblies, fabricated parts and other non-inventory items.
· Planning material requirements, managing inventory levels, expediting parts, and managing schedules in and ERP system.
· Develop efficient and accurate systems for monitoring and updating of open purchase orders and delivery requirements.
· Manage all aspects of procurement, from PO issuance through receipt and payment support.
· Participate in supplier performance management and populate supplier scorecards.
· Actively identify improvements, cost savings, and working capital and process optimizations.
· Support commodity management in building and maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring and addressing supply issues, and developing parts and projects.

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree (preferably in business) or professional certification.
· 5+ years purchasring or procurement experience. Robotics, manufacturing (particularly high mix/low-medium volume) and/or NPI experience a plus.
· Ability to deliver multiple first-of-their-kind projects or programs with aggressive schedules.
· Demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues, initiate actions, and make effective decisions.
· Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools.
· Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle EBS.
