EU AIR NCC Overview
AIR NCC (Network Control Center) is the central control tower for EU Amazon Air Transportation Services, ensuring flight operations are conducted in a safe, compliant and customer focused manner. The Center is managing daily flight operations and monitoring both domestic and inter-country FTL transportation movements for UK and European geographies. The team is responsible for daily operations execution with the contracted air carriers and ensuring that flight and line haul operations from and to the airports are executed on time to schedule across Europe. The Air NCC plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of Amazon's European Air transportation network and thereby has direct impact on Amazon's ability to serve customers on time.

Purview of a Network Operations Specialist
The Network Operations Specialist works across the EU in a cross-functional environment with Airlines and Gateways, the European Planning Team, FCs and Line haul carriers to ensure the end to end air operations are being organized and executed in excellence. By the daily activities such as managing the day-to-day on-time flight departures, air traffic control, contingency management, emergency ad-hoc loads sourcing and securing the candidate has a direct impact on the delivery performance. S/he is responsible for and oversees the daily on-time flight performance, the tendering of volume to the air carriers and processing at the gateways following up with the stakeholders and partners solving day to day issues such as delays or any network disruptions etc. The Specialist is also responsible for the in-transit tracking of vehicles and making sure all the relevant parties are updated with the latest information in case of delays. Besides that s/he will make sure that all partners are working in compliance to the SOPs, will create daily network performance reports for the network management team, drive process standardization and network improvements.

NCC Specialists support leadership by recommending process improvements that enhance safety, reduce cost and improve overall effectiveness of the air network. The candidate should have the basic understanding of Logistics and should be able to communicate clearly in the written and oral form.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Proactively monitor all aircraft movement activity to identify, address, and prevent potential issues
- Monitor all inbound/outbound customer package movements (line hauls) and escalate issues as required to protect the flight schedule
- Develop and execute effective service recovery plans as necessary
- Develops and drives compliance to standard operating procedures around air operations
-Support and drives the development of system tools to improve Network Center effectiveness
- Develop and understand performance metrics to assist with driving business results
- Liaise with Amazon Air's air carriers, ground handlers and other service providers to help facilitate on-time departures
- Continually assess and communicate the operational status all assigned flights and/or gateways
- Review, analyze and monitor present and forecast weather conditions for all assigned areas
- Partner with all stakeholders to resolve irregularities, disruptions, cancellations, extended delays or other impactful issues
- Escalate significant issues to Network Operations Management for visibility and resolution
- Support leadership by helping analyze data, prepare reports and provide other relevant information for operations meetings or executive leadership briefing.
-Provide real-time customer experience by working in 24*7 operating environment.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Completed Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Math, Finance or related industry experience
- 2 years experience working in a logistics or transportation operations (or equivalent Military experience)
-Ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Must be willing to work variable shifts which will include days, nights, weekends and holidays
-Fluent in English and one other European Language (French, German, Spanish are preferred) considered as a plus
-Excellent communication, both verbal and written as one may be required to create a narrative outlining weekly findings and the variances to goals, and present these finding in a review forum
- Proven ability to make optimal, balanced decisions during stress and irregular situation
- Strong inter-personal and relationship-building skills
- Microsoft Office suite proficiency
-Ability to travel 5% or less
