Role Summary/Purpose

This position provides mechanical engineering design leadership for modality components and subsystems. The position works to identify and execute strategic quality engineering efforts in addition to driving cross-functional engagement of quality project initiatives. This role requires the interaction with other service and design engineering teams in order to ensure the product quality goals set forth by the business.
Essential Responsibilities

• Leading design visualization efforts with 3D CAD models and essential component and assembly details to explore multiple design options.
• Developing innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability.
• Develop design evolution across multi-generation product releases
• Leveraging technical depth to work on business initiatives aimed at innovation and quality excellence
• Leading the subsystems technical teams through the entire design cycle including requirements generation, design and implementation, verification & validation as the key technical mentor
Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and up to 3 years progressive experience as a Mechanical Engineer within the mechanical engineering field of study or with technical leadership within an engineering discipline.
• Familiarity with structural (Static & Dynamics) and thermal analysis.
• Understanding of engineering product development processes.
Desired Characteristics

• Master degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Up to 3 years relative engineering experience
• Demonstrated expertise in specified area of interest with the ability to develop engineering specifications for major sub-systems/sub-assemblies, written reports on technologies, and other product design recommendations
• Demonstrated experience on global product releases throughout the entire new product development cycle
• In-depth working knowledge of patient/customer product-related clinical applications scientific/engineering methods/theory with an affinity for technology and clinical solutions
