Woot!, the original Deal a Day website, presents customers with an addictive and amusing shopping experience. As we look towards our next steps in providing the best online shopping experience for our audience we are seeking an experienced UX/VX Team Manager to help coordinate efforts from our incredible team of designers and balance research and requests coming from other Woot! teams.

As a Manager of UX and VX Design for Woot!, you will lead, define and drive the next iterations of the Woot! shopping experience on desktop and mobile. You and your team will be responsible for developing engaging customer experiences (user interface designs, visual designs, interaction models, marketing graphics, etc.) in a fast-paced environment. You will also work closely with engineering, product management, marketing, and company leaders to provides a variety of assets, as needed. This position requires an enthusiastic visionary that can translate business needs into a fantastic customer-centric solution. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment. The ideal candidate for this position will be at ease balancing multiple requests of different priority, delegating tasks appropriately, and managing a team of ultra-talented artsy types. The ideal candidate will also have a sense of humor and hopefully a budding love for our adorable monkey mascots.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· A bachelor's or master's degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or related UX/VX design field
· At least 4 years of experience as a user experience designer or similar UX-related role
· At least 2 years of experience as a visual experience designer or similar VX-related role
· At least 3 years of successfully managing design teams
· A passion for delighting customers and continuously improving the customer experience
· An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating relevant experience
· Strong management communication skills, a collaborative attitude, and enthusiasm for ownership
· Fluency in best practices for information architecture and interaction design, and user-centered design process, as well as strong knowledge of user experience principles and techniques
· At least 2 years of experience creating prototypes or highly detailed wireframes for complex web applications
· Familiarity with user interface patterns for web
· Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present a strong rationale for design decisions as well as how to turn ideas into strong, unique creative vision
· Visual design expertise demonstrated through mock-ups and style guides
· Ability to guide and provide VX feedback with solid rationale/direction to influence internal/external teams
· Ready to pitch in and contribute with design work, particularly UX design work
· Comfortable within a certain level of ambiguity on projects
· Experience guiding and managing user research and usability testing
· Ability to scope design requests, prioritize deliverables and manage expectations for experience changes
· Proficient in the Adobe creative suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
