DESCRIPTION

Amazon Transportation is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Program Manager to assist in the management of daily Transportation Systems Configuration supporting Outbound Customer Shipments flowing out of our North American fulfillment centers and our associated fulfillment network. Program Managers in this role work with business teams to translate operational designs into detailed systems configuration to ensure that the operational design is modeled, tested and executed quickly and with high quality/accuracy. The position will have leadership responsibility with 8-10 direct reports. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team in a substantial growth area for Amazon.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Configuring shipping settings that will correlate to real time updates of the website checkout experience as well as inputs driving shipping decisions for packages in our transportation network
· Validate expected behavior and compliance to standard procedures and develop/update internal documentation for internal training and reference
· Scoping out business and functional requirements for the Amazon tech teams who create and enhance the software systems and tools we use
· Continual, tactical communication primarily with internal customers (Program Teams, various Transportation Teams and Tech Teams)
· Pulling data from numerous systems/databases (using Excel, SQL and/or other data management systems) and to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
· Develop performance metrics to assist with driving business results
· Lead initiatives to re-engineer business processes and identify and eliminate root causes of defects in order to drive efficiency in Amazon’s transportation operations
· Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed
· Creating narratives outlining the findings from analysis, variances to goals and presenting these finding in a review forum

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Degree in Engineering, Operations, Logistics or related field
· 4+ years of work experience in logistics/transportation industry
· 2+ years of experience in Transportation Systems/Configuration, particularly SIS (Shipping Integration Services) and to a lesser degree CIMS (Carrier Information Management System)
· Excellent program management skills
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
· Expertise in SQL
· Familiar with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
· Data management & data quality control experience with experience pulling and analyzing large sets of data

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· A completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university, or 2+ years Amazon work experience
· 6+ years of work experience leading teams in a fast paced, high change environment
· Proficient in MS Office required with advanced knowledge in Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, macros, etc)
· Proficient in SQL
· Ability to work some weekend /off hours as needed, as this team provides some tactical support to Amazon’s fulfillment network 7 days/week
