By 2020, it is estimated that there will be 13B addressable smart home devices in the US and that the global smart home industry, which includes smart entertainment, smart environment (e.g., lighting, thermostats), and smart security will reach $58.7 billion (17% 5-year CAGR). 54% of US consumers are excited about smart home technology, yet only 6% of households have adopted it to date, highlighting the opportunity for growth. The vision for Smart Home Services is to tackle this segment by building a work-force of Amazon employees who are experts in smart home technology to deliver, install, and set up Alexa devices to create the Amazon smart home.

Amazon is looking for a self-driven individual who is obsessed with Customer satisfaction and a passion for consumer technology. The Electrician will consult with customers and perform installations of smart home products. In addition, the Electrician will have the ability to lead other service technicians, design solutions for difficult problems, be able to manage outside contractors, have the ability to handle multiple projects and daily activities, and meet time lines.

Responsibilities will include:
· Consult with customers at homes and/or businesses and provide guidance on optimal smart home solutions
· Install, Maintain and troubleshoot low-voltage and line-voltage electrical systems
· Support development of training plans for service technicians
· Install, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC systems, lighting systems
· Review and inspect wiring methods and materials
· Develop and maintain good working relationships across all levels in the organization
· Provide enriched feedback to enhance individual performance
· Act as a leader in electrical safety for assigned market(s)
· Prioritize safety at all times, work in a safe manner and maintain a safe work environment
· Support development of curriculum to teach peers and customers
· Maintain flexibility with full-time schedule, including shift assignments on weekends/evenings

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience doing 120-volt electrical work without supervision
· Residential electrical experience
· Possess a valid Electrician's license in the states of North Carolina and/or South Carolina, Georgia, or Florida
· Must be willing to serve as the Qualifying Individual/Party for multiple state licenses in the eastern region and oversee trainee technicians
· Possess a valid driver's license and access to a personal automobile
· Must be able to travel regionally up to 20% of the time
· Must be able to commute to the local Amazon Smart Home Services office
· 2+ years of experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment
· 1+ year(s) of experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
· 2+ years of experience working directly with customers
· Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent
