Title: Hardware Development Engineer II

Location: Nashville, TN

Position Responsibilities:

Develop advanced simulations and data analyses to optimize automation system configuration options to meet end-to-end system goals, integrating internally developed robotics with externally supplied material handling systems. Validate simulation models using production data streams, site visits, and correspondence across engineering, robotics, software, and operations teams to ensure models have sufficient detail to enable accurate quantitative evaluation of performance. Utilize simulation models to identify and justify performance improvement opportunities via control logic, hardware, and process flow changes. Work closely with automation deployment teams to implement end-to-end solutions in the field.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, robotics, mechatronics or equivalent with four years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. At least one year of experience 1) developing and implementing new systems or significant upgrade of existing systems with advanced industrial automation technologies including robotics, AGVs, industrial control systems, machine vision, mechatronics, network flows, or production scheduling; 2) applying modelling and simulation to industrial automation projects; 3) driving complex projects through to completion; 4) 2D and 3D CAD/CAE modeling (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent), and: 5) working with cross functional teams, suppliers, and field operations to define system requirements and evaluation metrics. Able to travel up to 15% domestically.
