The AWS Hardware Engineering team creates server designs for Amazon's innovative web services. Our designs are industry-leading in frugality and operational excellence, and are critical to the success of the AWS business and the more than one million customers who use AWS today. Our engineers solve challenging technology problems, and build architecturally sound, high-quality components to enable AWS to realize critical business strategies. 

The ideal candidate for this role will be an innovative self-starter. You will work with engineers across the company as well as external companies and lead test automation and server test content bring-up efforts. You will use your broad experience using and developing automated testing tools, programming languages and expertise on hardware to test prototype servers. What you will do: You will be a member of the server´s automation team and will interact with engineers across the company to lead the design, development and automation of the test content to qualify servers with Amazon requirements. You will recommend product improvements based on your testing results. You will work closely with AWS engineers to automate reporting of test coverage in the lab qualifications.

· Directly influence the direction and growth-path of HW Qual
· Find innovative ways to stress and prove the HW functionality our customers care about
· Create and document test plans and test cases
· Review technical specifications and interfaces for conformity to design guidelines and functionality
· Efficiently execute test cases across all functional areas of our products
· Be a proponent of automation and work to enhance our test automation capability through scripting and other software tools
· Find, isolate, document, and track bugs through resolution using our tracking tools
· Interpret and report testing results, and be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process
· Work with other Development Engineers across the hardware, software teams to understand the overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented and best validated
· Mentor and train junior QA Engineers in test methodologies

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· BS / MS Electrical/Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience)
· 7+ years of experience in component and system level test design
· 3+ years of product validation experience with standard server architectures and components such as CPU, GPU, Memory, HDD, SSD, Networking, BMC, BIOS, and related firmware
· Experience in the development and execution of engineering evaluation tests using a high level scripting language (Python)
· Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product Test design from concept to production.
