Job description

DESCRIPTION

Amazon ECS is looking for a passionate, experienced Front End Engineer to help solve challenging problems in a space packed full of opportunities. ECS is at the heart of most containerized applications and workflows that run on AWS, and our team focuses on the developer experiences that surround infrastructure management. With the acceleration of micro-services and cloud native applications, we want to reshape how customers build and run containers in the cloud.
As a Frontend Engineer within the AWS Proton team, you will be responsible for building our user experience and will help set the direction for our APIs and UX. Our goal is to make it easy to do complex tasks without making the user experience challenging. In this role, you will work closely with a talented team of engineers, product managers, UX designers and customers to create responsive and usable web interfaces.

Creating a great web experience requires a blend of technical knowledge and customer obsession. Successful candidates should also be innovative, flexible, self-directed, and able to design and write high-performance, reliable, maintainable code. This role requires the ability to creatively deal with ambiguity, be data-driven and juggle cross-organization complexity.
You will be part of a fast moving team that has a huge impact on the overall container services business. We are making history by defining the cloud computing user experience for millions of people worldwide.

Here at AWS, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. We have ten employee-led affinity groups, reaching 40,000 employees in over 190 chapters globally. Amazon’s culture of inclusion is reinforced within our 14 Leadership Principles, which remind team members to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust.

Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. Our senior members enjoy one-on-one mentoring and thorough, but kind, code reviews. We care about your career growth and strive to assign projects based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded engineer and enable them to take on more complex tasks in the future.

Our team puts a high value on work-life balance. It isn’t about how many hours you spend at home or at work; it’s about the flow you establish that brings energy to both parts of your life. We believe striking the right balance between your personal and professional life is critical to life-long happiness and fulfillment. We offer flexibility in working hours and encourage you to find your own balance between your work and personal lives.
