DESCRIPTION

Developer Advocate for AWS Application Modernization Lab Amazon Web Services is looking for a Developer Advocate to help customers accelerate their modernization of the Microsoft customer workloads on AWS. The goal of the Application Modernization Lab is to assist existing AWS customers as they modernize their development methods and patterns using a representative application from their portfolio. In this role, you'll combine your passion and enthusiasm creativity to generate grass-roots attention and support for AWS services among developers, technologists, and key opinion makers.

Positions available in US West (Seattle/SF Bay area), US Central (Chicago/Austin), and US East (NYC or Boston)

You will have broad know-how around cloud-native applications and services using the AWS platform, and experienced on Microsoft technology stack as it relates to customer modernization. Ideally, you are someone who writes code but get greater satisfaction from guiding developers and enterprises towards a technology you strongly believe in. You have immediate credibility with developers evidenced by your following on mediums such as GitHub, Twitter, and Medium, but are equally comfortable working with decision-makers at large enterprises. You love to share your passion with others and exhibit good judgment in selecting strategic opportunities to do so.

Roles and Responsibilities:
· Delivering compelling presentations, product demos, sample solutions, and discussions to drive adoption of the Application Modernization Lab
· Defining and evolving a global advocacy strategy for how to drive developer adoption of .NET modernization initiatives (.NET Core, Containers/Kubernetes, Serverless, ML/AI, and DevOps) on AWS.
· Collaboration with internal teams to identify gaps and define new features/services. Features/services that will shape and influence developer program initiatives from the Application Modernization Lab.
· Collaborate with solution architects and sales teams, work directly with customers to develop customers’ internal developer competencies to enable them to modernize their .NET applications onto AWS.
· Gain recognition and credibility as a regular attendee, panelist, and keynote speaker at meetups, technology conferences, and field events
Maintaining a credible and robust presence in social media and technology channels relevant to developers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications
· Developing high quality, enterprise-scale software products
· Datacenter migration, especially involving Windows Servers and complex Windows workloads
· Designing or managing a SQL Server and Active Directory implementation
· Knowledge of .NET Programming (C#)
· Understanding of the AWS services, market segments, customer base, and industry verticals.
· MCSA, MCSD, and/or MCS

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline
· 5+ years in the technology industry in a technical, product management, or evangelism/developer advocacy role
· 3+ years enterprise IT application experience that includes at least 2 years of hands-on software development, infrastructure engineering, or systems architecture
· Superior oral and written communication skills, including public speaking
· The ability to work cooperatively with, and gain the respect of, software developers is a must
· A willingness to work remotely, autonomously and travel are a must
