Design Technologist

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Design Technologist to help us build innovative new products for design and automation for creatives and marketers at Amazon. You'll be working at D1, a global internal creative team with a broad set of skills and responsibilities ranging from brand design, motion design, UX/interactive, and art direction. We are looking for a candidate that is capable of adding creative talents to UX prototyping and software development skills to deliver concepts for new tools and experiences aimed at enhancing customer experience and the Amazon global brand. As a Design Technologist on this team, you will be working with design and UX stakeholders to prototype and develop features for a suite of widely available and active internal tools. You will also be supporting Amazon's brand and marketing priorities and onsite experiences by developing prototypes for user research programs and generating data-driven solutions for Amazon retail experiences.

Responsibilities
· Work with design teams and internal stakeholders to build retail prototypes that generate useful user data

· Ideate and develop features for internal designer tools

· Advocate and present new technologies and solutions to design leads

· Own documentation and articulate prototyping and design decisions to stakeholders

· Work in a collaborative team, publicly white-boarding, and working directly with designers with development

· Have excellent time management skills and give accurate estimates for development tasks for sprint prioritization

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· BS in Computer Science or at least 4 years of relevant work experience

· Proficiency in content management systems and modern application development stacks: Node, React, jQuery, JSON, Python, Nginx/Apache, AWS cloud platforms

· An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions across desktop and mobile devices

· Experience working with Agile software development teams and best practices
