Amazon operates a world-class network of delivery stations across the globe. The Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Team is responsible for the acquisition, design, construction, and management of all facilities in the Amazon Delivery Station Network. We are looking for a talented professional to join our North America AMZL Design Engineering Team who will support the expansion of AMZL’s Delivery Station Network in North America (NA). We are seeking an experienced, innovative, hands-on, and customer obsessed Design Engineer to drive delivery station process, building design, and standardization across our Last Mile delivery network. As a member of the NA AMZL Design Engineering team you will be responsible for designing and optimizing the delivery and sortation network, enabling operations processes to meet safety, customer experience, quality, and cost goals that span delivery stations, outside traffic flow and on-road operations.

This position requires deep customer focus, strong self-motivation, and exceptional project management skills. The
role will involve regular communication with project sponsors and executive leadership, and requires you to be detail oriented and comfortable partnering and leading with cross-functional business and technical teams. To be successful,
you need strong design and innovation experience to pair with strong analytical skills and a data-driven outlook.

This role is based in Bellevue and will involve travel up to 25%.

Core Job Responsibilities include:
· Responsible for building design, development, review and release for approval and deployment of new delivery stations and existing station capacity improvements and enhancements
· Responsible for process expertise on engineering design including material flow, labor placement, conveyors, equipment, operations modules, packaging profiles, and physical building and site layout components
· Responsible for achieving the daily and weekly plan set in front of the Design engineers
· Collaborate with Design Managers, CAD drafters, Real Estate Transaction managers, World Wide Engineering (WWE), Pre-Construction and its Architects, material handling equipment suppliers, Launch and Start Up teams, Finance, Volume Planning, and Capacity Planning teams among others
· Contribute to network culture of standardization using best practice sharing with European (EU) and Worldwide (WW) counterparts, and incorporate into most up to date design practices
· Lead continuous process and design benchmark initiatives and conduct deep dive benchmark studies
· Support the Design quality control process that strives for accurate, zero-defect designs
· Responsible for implementation of new Design standards in collaboration with World Wide Design, Safety, Process Engineering, Material Handling Equipment, and Launch
· Responsible for new expansion, retrofit, process improvement initiatives and opportunities at the project level to support associate and driver safety, quality, and productivity, and capacity increase for the delivery stations
· Implements solutions for recurring process issues and improvement projects within Design Engineering processes
· Collaborates with partner teams on their inputs, feedback, and best practices
· Implement new template designs, process improvements, safety processes, etc. into standard designs
· Implement mechanisms to increase scale, speed, and quality of designs within the team
· Facilitate cross-functional project specific reviews to collaborate on design solutions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· MBA or Masters in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Transportation
· Experience in designing, implementing, and launching of fulfillment, delivery, sortation centers
· Experience with Simulation or 3D modeling
· Experience collaborating with design engineering, construction, real estate managers, execution project managers
· Experience working as Design Engineer or Senior Design Engineer for physical infrastructure designs

Proven track record of delivering successful Fulfillment, Distribution, Warehouse, or Delivery station designs

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent industrial and operations background
· 3+ years of experience in Design, Construction, Architecture, or Topography
· 3+ years of experience in a similar process and building layout design and development role, ideally in fast-paced industrial, logistics, distribution, fulfillment or production/manufacturing environment
· Recent experience and proficiency in design engineering and drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Visio, Solidworks, etc.
· Process Engineering skills and excellent Project Management skills
· Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with business partners and key stakeholders, and the ability to work under pressure in a cross functional organization
· Expertise in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other OE tools
· Intermediate knowledge of Excel is required, including use of look-ups and pivot tables
· Customer focus and professional demeanor
· Ability and Excitement working in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment
· A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
· Interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
