This position requires the ability to wrangle large amounts of data, a great business sense, and the desire to influence key strategic decisions with data-driven analysis. Working within our science team and collaborating with key stakeholders across the company, you will have the opportunity to design and implement features to enhance the experience of Amazon customers. You will have access to some of the most-qualified scientists in their field and will have an outsized influence on the success of the company.

The role requires the ability to conceptualize, formulate, prototype, and implement algorithms to capture customer behavior and solve business problems.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* A desire to work in a collaborative, intellectually curious environment.

* Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field and at least 2 years work experience

* Industry experience as a Data Engineer or related specialty (e.g., Software Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Scientist) with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets.

* Demonstrated ability in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.

* Experience with Oracle, Redshift, Teradata, etc.

* Coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Ruby, Java, etc)
* Experience with Big Data Technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Pig, Spark, etc.)
