The Data Center Global Services: Controls Engineering team is looking for exceptional individuals to join as a Controls Technician responsible for servicing various Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) within Amazon data centers. If you are passionate about the Customer Experience, think and act globally and have the ability to contribute in the area of controls and automation this is the challenge you are looking for!

The ideal candidate will possess a background in Controls and Automation that enables him/her to undertake the challenges of sophisticated controls platforms and a demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically in aligning building controls and automation with the larger objectives of the business. This would include configuration, troubleshooting, and/or repair of components and systems related to HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial water, Avionics, or other automation and monitoring systems. Candidate will be an essential member of a larger Controls Engineering team.

Role Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Must establish and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, controls team, and various supporting teams.
• Working knowledge of electrical diagrams, control diagrams, building operations manuals, and control circuits.
• Operational experience with mechanical systems, HVAC equipment and applications.
· Understanding of controls instrumentation and how to use multi-meters, system information, and trended data to troubleshoot control systems.
• Ability to independently triage and troubleshoot system and network/communication issues.
• Ability to read, learn, and interpret specifications, system sequences of operation, and implementation of specifications as applied to a mission critical environment.
• Development of project scopes, timelines, and managing vendors as needed to address the needs of various customers and teams.
• Analyze system operating conditions to assess risk in preparation for service, as well as changes corresponding to procedural milestones during a service or system impacting event.
• Coordinate project work internally within the department and externally with other departments to ensure on-time completion of projects within budget.
• Support various controls and monitoring platforms, including Building Management and Electrical Power Monitoring across multiple originators.
• Performing routine inspections, testing, calibration, and commissioning of the facility control systems and peripheral devices (preventative maintenance).
• Work individually and as part of a team.
• Provide technical and project assistance as needed to internal and external customers.
• Provide emergent (after hours) support as part of an existing, on-call rotation.

Qualifications:

• Vocational, college, or trade school education as well as two (2) years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working in mission critical environments (telecommunications, data centers, hospitals, etc.).
