DESCRIPCIÓN

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced Compliance Engineer who will be responsible for providing global product compliance analysis and guidance to ensure that all electrical, mechanical and other regulated performance specifications are satisfied in all countries where AWS business exists or will expand.

You will interact with Development/Engineering Services, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, Tax, and other internal businesses and external stakeholders to drive global product compliance in the areas of Product Safety, EMC and RF approvals. The position is located in Portland, OR and will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Compliance Engineering, within the Global Trade and Product Compliance (GPTC) Organization.

GTPC is responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure equipment necessary to support the AWS services are imported/exported in a compliant manner across the multiple countries where AWS operates and will expand, including all product certification/safety regulations. This position can also be located in Arlington, VA, Herndon, VA, or Seattle, Washington.

Primary Duties
· Work closely with hardware design teams throughout the product life cycle in order to obtain required Product Safety, EMC and RF regulatory compliance certifications by: specifying regulatory and technical standards requirements; conducting specification/design reviews; managing pre-testing of hardware platforms developed by the design team; and supporting the team through product execution.
· Execute with operations teams to sustain compliance through the hardware’s product lifetime.
· Create procedures and guidelines to mitigate compliance issues early in the design phase, and ensure that devices meet governmental and industry regulations in international markets.
· Interpret relevant compliance standards against which to test hardware, based on specific use cases.
· Participate in, and approve, mechanical and electrical design reviews to ensure Product Safety, EMC/EMI, and RF mitigations are properly implemented during design phase.
· Conduct root cause determinations and corrective design action for any failures.
· Submit, maintain, and/or review official paperwork and final approval from the proper government or regulatory bodies (FCC, IC, CE, BSMI, etc.).
· Be responsible for artwork label specifications as required by certification bodies.
· Be current on any changes to relevant global agency approvals and testing procedures.
· Develop key metrics to evaluate the program’s performance, and build implementation plans to confirm our performance and compliance, against program metrics, internal company requirements, and regulations; conduct periodic reviews to ensure projects are on track.
