DESCRIPTION

Amazon's European Beer, Wine & Spirits team is looking for a talented Data Engineer to deliver business intelligence solutions for pricing to ensure regulatory compliance. Pricing systems are responsible for determining and publishing prices automatically, with little to no manual intervention, and must evolve with regulatory guidance on pricing within the Beer, Wine and Spirits category.
Our ideal candidate has a combination of strong technical skills, superb analytical capabilities, outstanding business insight, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. As a full-time contractor, you will have the opportunity work closely with the business and technical teams to use creative problem solving skills to deliver tangible improvements in our pricing systems.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities who strives to answer key business questions, who operates independently and works across functional boundaries. We are looking for someone to develop a healthy obsession with understanding our business needs and designing enhancements to our pricing system that meet these needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor degree and 3+ years of relevant work experience
* Demonstrable skills and experience using SQL with large data sets (for example, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server)
* Experience in data mining (SQL, ETL, data warehouse, etc.) and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
* Microsoft Excel experience
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
