DESCRIPTION

Amazon Devices and Corporate Projects HR team is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team in order to innovate and create systems for more data-driven decision making specifically for the talent management, HR, and Diversity teams. We are looking for an analyst to apply their business knowledge, data visualization, and data engineering skills in the area of talent management, HR, and Diversity for both corporate and field locations across Devices and Corporate Projects. You will design and create operational metrics and analytics that will assist in making decisions in our talent management, HR, and Diversity strategies. You will also apply your knowledge of business intelligence tools and processes to help scale and build the BI capabilities of the team.

You will partner across teams to ensure that our data is aligned to the strategic goals of the organization and you will be responsible for digging into the details for ways to improve the current state, expose new insights and drive recommendations that will impact the organizational strategies for innovative businesses.

In this role you will be:
· Engaging with HR and business partners to gather requirements to design and develop analytics in support of talent management, HR, and Diversity initiatives.
· Leading the development and design of standard operational dashboards
· Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for complex, large scale data analyses.
· Write high quality code to gather and manage large datasets from multiple sources, transforming or cleaning data as necessary.
· Provide ad-hoc or special project data analysis to leaders to inform strategic organizational and talent management decisions for supported business units.
· Apply data analysis and research skills to identify key indicators to develop predictive modeling for key employee life cycle events.
· Mentor HR Business Analysts on the team in technical and professional skill development.
· Partner with central teams to influence HRBI strategies representing the needs of the business units you support.
· Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon's data resources and know when, how, and which to use and which not to at any given time.
· Recognize, create and implement new reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in an analytical area such as Computer Science, Social/Behavioral Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or similar
· 3+ years' experience working with large-scale, complex datasets with an emphasis on data reporting and analytics, preferably in business operations or HR.
· Experience designing and developing business facing dashboards, and data visualizations in BI platforms such as Tableau, MicrosStrategy, OBIEE or comparable tool
· Experience with data mining and creating/optimizing operational analytics and data models
· Experience in using SQL to analyze data in a database or data warehouse and working knowledge of a scripting language (Python, Ruby, Perl) to process data for modeling
· Strong skills using Microsoft Office products, specifically in Excel.
