Job description

DESCRIPTION

Business Development, Transparency by Amazon

Transparency represents an incredible opportunity to raise retail industry standards around authenticity, product transparency, and supply chain tracking. Transparency is a strategic new software-as-a-service launched by Amazon for the global consumer goods industry. We are focused on building a global industry wide standard that allows consumer brands to track and trace goods through the supply chain, ensure only authentic product enters the supply chain, and shares with consumers transparent information about the origin and authenticity of the goods they purchase both online and in retail stores. Our customers include individual consumer brands who sell both on and off of Amazon direct and through a network of direct and third-party sellers.
The Role:
As a business development leader you would help to define the programs business model and go to market strategy. You will also shape how we execute our vision through collaboration with large industry partners. As part of the process you would also be expected to influence product definition and program strategy. Since this is a completely new business area for Amazon, you will have a unique opportunity to build a product and a program from scratch, turning a vision into a live business, industry standard, and symbol for consumer trust.

Transparency is looking for a mid-level, talented and experienced business development manager to drive partnerships with midsize brands and ecosystem partners across the globe. You will be responsible for early engagement with brands and partners across a variety of industries with the goal of onboarding several brands to our new platform.

As part of this role you will also work with brands during the implementation phase as an adviser and project manager ensuring a smooth onboarding experience. You'll also have a great deal of influence on streamlining the operational processes involved in the implementation process by documenting best practices, writing onboarding guides, and advising our product management team on features that will enable self-service.

As a strategic contributor to the Transparency team you will have the opportunity to dramatically accelerate adoption of Transparency by owning key categories and strategic business discussions with the top 2000 brands in consumer goods. This role will work closely with Amazon Retail teams, legal, PR, and other internal stakeholders.
