DESCRIPTION

The AWS DDoS Response Team (DRT) is the support and development team that is responsible for building and maintaining Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) mitigation infrastructure, automating DDoS attack mitigation and response, and driving high-severity event resolution on behalf of AWS infrastructure and AWS Shield customers.

As a Support Engineer for DRT you will protect AWS services and customers against DDoS attacks and other threats. You will respond to escalation requests, alarms, and take action as necessary to protect or restore service and application availability. Our customers will rely on your expertise to help review and improve application architecture and employ operational best practices that are key to DDoS-resiliency.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or quantitative field, or related industry experience.
· 3+ years' experience in 24/7 operations in a technical support, security services, or network operations center environment.
· Knowledge and experience in major Internet protocols; specifically, HTTP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, TCP/UDP, IP addressing.
· Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills; specifically, network performance analysis.
· Good understanding of security best practices.
